Banyan Hills Technologies and Synaccess Networks Announce Partnership To Offer IoT-Enabled Power Management Solutions
New partnership will allow Synaccess Networks to provide its customers with IoT software solutions to help manage infrastructure while Banyan Hills Technologies can now offer its customers remote power management capabilities
ATLANTA, April 28, 2021 – Banyan Hills Technologies, a remote monitoring and management software company, today announced a partnership with Synaccess Networks, an industry leader in power management, to offer power distribution units that can be securely managed over the Internet.
Synaccess Networks designs and manufacturers power distribution units (PDUs) that can be used in a wide variety of industries to improve efficiency and uptime. The devices are fitted with multiple electrical power outlets that can be individually turned off and on through remote access. While traditionally found in server and data center environments, PDUs are also suitable for use with kiosks, digital signs, ATMs, routers and modems.
Companies can reduce operational costs by using Synaccess PDUs to remotely reboot devices instead of dispatching a costly on-site technician. Synaccess PDUs can even be programmed to reboot automatically if they detect a network problem.
In addition, temperature sensors can be attached to the PDU device and used to ensure that a machine in a remote location does not overheat or become too cold.
When paired with CanopyTM, the remote connectivity software from Banyan Hills Technologies, Synaccess PDUs become part of a larger package designed to help IT professionals monitor and manage critical infrastructure.
The Canopy software can monitor the power consumption on the PDU, the state of its outlets, the model number, the location and the temperature from any temperature sensors. Also, the power outlets can be controlled independently from within Canopy. The outlets can be rebooted manually or users can program the Synaccess PDUs to power on and off through Canopy’s IoT Automations module.
For example, if Canopy detects a problem with the software running on a machine, an IoT Automation rule can tell the Synaccess PDU unit to reboot one of its outlets.
As expected, Canopy users will continue to benefit from the software’s real-time dashboards, advanced features and configurable KPIs. Canopy’s edge agent, LeafTM, is hardware and operating system agnostic, making it capable of running a wide variety of devices and machines. The software allows customers to monitor component and system performance to improve device uptime and field service operations.
“The need for effective remote management services has only accelerated due to the global pandemic and the continued expansion of the Internet of Things,” said Steve Latham, CEO and founder of Banyan Hills Technologies. “SynAccess’ power management hardware solutions combined with Banyan’s IoT software platform allows customers to now maintain full visibility and remote management capabilities of the essential building block for their mission critical systems; Power. We couldn’t be more excited to combine Canopy’s remote management capabilities with SynAccess’ industrial strength hardware solutions, and look forward to being in a position to bring these combined capabilities to our customers.”
Synaccess Networks began in Carlesbad, California in 2003 and now its products are sold throughout the United States and the world. The company enjoys a firmly-established reputation in the IT, engineering and remote installation industries as a provider of high-quality power management solutions.
“We’re excited to be working with Banyan Hills Technologies to help provide additional ways to leverage Synaccess hardware solutions,” said Shawn Han, CEO Synaccess Networks. “Banyan’s IoT platform provides a fantastic solution for monitoring and managing devices connected to Synaccess hardware.”
